The Sunbird Conservatives believe that one of the best ways to discuss political issues is to debate questions of concern in a civil environment.  It is the goal of this organization to hold numerous debates on the most controversial and important issues confronting our country today.  A debate serves the purpose of allowing both sides to argue and persuade to the best of their ability the people before them.  This allows the people, and often forces them, to think critically and make informed decisions.  Debates also give audience members the ability to understand political philosophy and ideologies firsthand.  This provides voters and community members the tools needed to understand motivations and world views better than any other method available. 

The first debate the Sunbird Conservatives are held was at the 2^ndAnnual Sunbird Conservatives Conference in  2010.  It discussed the question of “Imperial America” from a Conservative and Progressive point of view. 

Currently we are in talks with liberal organizations in Fresno to establish a permanent Debate Series.  We will keep you informed when this gets off the ground.
